The area around Le Mûrier de Viels has something for everyone. For the more energetic, boating, water-skiing and fishing are all available on the river. On dry land, the countryside is perfect for hiking, cycling and horse riding (there is an equestrian centre nearby), and there are tennis courts at both Figeac and Capdenac. Le Mûrier de Viels itself has a small fitness centre and a swimming pool. There are plenty of walks from the hotel and an ancient pathway leads down to the river with its abundant bird life.

- Have a highly recommended massage or reflexology in your own room or in our relaxation room "La Source".
- Take it easy by the swimming pool.
- Have a picnic in a secluded part of our grounds.
- Choose from several little walks from the hotel.

- A few minutes away by car or 20 minutes walk to the local horse riding school.
- Visit Figeac especially for the market on Saturday morning.
- Visit Villefranche de Rouergue with its market on Thursdays.
- Visit Capdenac le Haut reputedly the setting for the village in the Asterix comics.
- Discover the caves in Fossiac.
- There are a variety of walks taking in the beauty of Aveyron's countryside.

- All of these villages are a must; Belcastel, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Conques and Najac, all recognised as some of the most beautiful villages of France.
- Visit Pech Merle the underground caves with prehistoric paintings (Need to book in advance).
< 2 Hours
- Visit Rocamadour with its famous sanctuary of the Virgin Mary and its equally famous cheese.
- Millau Viaduct the tallest vehicular bridge in the world.
