Our 3-star hotel near Figeac in the Lot valley (France) is ideally located to explore the beauty of Lot and Aveyron. Located in a private woodland park of 15 acres, Le Mûrier de Viels has 7 ensuite rooms in 3 seperate Quercy stone buildings, a restaurant, a swimming pool and a self-catering gîte. The traditional Quercy-stone buildings have all been renovated to the highest standards, guaranteeing a memorable stay in stylish surroundings. Our grounds border the River-Lot with access to the banks of the river via a winding, 12th-century pathway.
Within our Local area is Figeac (Department 46) just 15 minutes away with its historic architecture and its bustling Saturday market. An hour away is the cathedral town of Cahors and the beautiful village of Conques, recognised as one of the most beautiful villages of France.
Our hotel is actually in Aveyron (Department 12) which has its own recognised villages and within easy reach are: Belcastel, Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, and Najac. Capdenac Le Haut is the reputed setting for the Asterix comics.
Rocamadour the famous town and its surrounding area is a recommended day trip.
International guests can reach us by air from Rodez airport (1 hour away) and Toulouse from where you can get a connecting train to Figeac or Capdenac Gare and then a taxi from the train station. From Limoges and Bergerac airports (2 hours away) you can rent a car. Otherwise we are 560kms from Paris and well connected to a number of autoroutes.
